Our Mandate & Establishment
The African Union Development Project (AUDP) was established by the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union as a pan-African financial institution with a singular, powerful mandate: to accelerate the economic development and integration of the African continent.
Born from the vision of Agenda 2063 – "The Africa We Want" – the AUDP operates as a strategic, autonomous entity designed to mobilize and deploy capital for high-impact, transformative projects that are critical to Africa's future. We fill a vital niche, financing the large-scale, often transboundary infrastructure that forms the backbone of a unified, prosperous, and resilient Africa.
Our Vision
To be the preeminent financier and trusted partner for building a fully integrated, politically united, and economically thriving Africa, driven by world-class infrastructure and empowered communities.
Our Mission
To mobilize significant financial resources and provide strategic capital for high-priority development projects across the African Union Member States. We prioritize initiatives that foster regional connectivity, enhance economic competitiveness, build climate resilience, and deliver tangible socio-economic benefits for the people of Africa.
